On July 1, 2019, Dong-A ST (Chairman Eom Dae-sig) announced that the company had passed the ISO 37001 (Anti-corruption Management System) surveillance conducted over two days from June 25 to 26 by the Korea Standards Association (KSA).
Companies are subject to the surveillance every year after obtaining the ISO 37001 certification for the maintenance of system operation.
The surveillance results are classified into major non-conformance, minor non-conformance, and improvement opportunity. The status of certification may be suspended if there is more than one non-conformance and even revoked if several major non-conformances are identified.
The surveillance conducted by the KSA this time around consisted of an executive interview, site tour, process audit, and closing meeting in that order.
Dong-A ST passed the surveillance with 0 major/minor non-conformances and 7 improvement opportunities according to the surveillance results. The CEO's strong commitment to and leadership of the anti-corruption management system, greater awareness of the system among employees and its integration into the corporate culture, and the development and operation of guidelines by the CP management office were evaluated as strong points.
In addition to the internal audits of all business sites at the team level performed as part of the anti-corruption management system, Dong-A ST operates a CP homepage that provides anti-corruption guidelines and audit policies, a whistleblowing system for employees and business partners, an accounting monitoring system for financial management, and a CP management system for non-financial management.
The personnel evaluation of executives and managers reflects the obligation to comply with the anti-corruption management system.
Chairman Eom Dae-sig of Dong-A ST said, “Dong-A ST is fully equipped with both hardware and software for ethical management, having obtained the ISO 37001 certification and passed the surveillance. Based on this ethical management system, all employees of Dong-A ST will be instilled with a sense of ethics which they will put into practice so as to achieve the company’s vision of ‘leaping as a leading company with global new drugs’.”
Dong-A Socio Group, to which Dong-A ST belongs, is striving for ethical management. Dong-A Socio Holdings, a holding company of the group, and Dong-A Pharm, which produces Bacchus and OTC products, have also acquired the ISO 37001 certification.
