Dong-A ST (Chairman Eom Dae-sig) hosted the entrance ceremony of the ‘13th Environment & Life Loving Class for Youth’ at its headquarters in Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul at 10AM on July 23. After the ceremony, the junior high school students participating in the class headed to the Human Resources Development Center of Dong-A Socio Group located at Mureung-ri, Euncheok-myeon, Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do.

The ceremony was attended by Chairman Eom Dae-sig and Vice Chairman Kang Soo-hyoung of Dong-A ST, Vice Director Myung Ho of the Eco Horizon Institute, and the parents of the participants.

Chairman Eom Dae-sig of Dong-A ST said, “Creating a healthy environment requires your attention and cooperation as well as the input of the company,” adding, “I hope that this ‘Environment & Life Loving Class for Youth’ will help you realize the importance of the environment and communicate with the people around you about the environment when you return to your homes and go to school,.

The 13th Environment & Life Loving Class for Youth will be held for 4 nights and 5 days from July 23 (Mon) to 27(Fri) at Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, where the Nakdong River meets with the Baekdudaegan mountain range, the watershed-crest-line that runs for most of the length of the Korean Peninsula. The 60 selected middle school students (30 boys and 30 girls) will attend various programs designed to teach them about the importance of the environment and life.

The program includes a water-oriented life class designed to help the students understand the diverse species that live in paddy fields and rivers, an agricultural experience class that enables them to experience the harvest season, and lectures on human coexistence with nature.

The Environment & Life Loving Class for Youth has been held since 2004 to teach students that polluted environment kills life and protecting environment is the way to protect lives in nature and also to instill the spirit of respect for life in nature.

The Environment & Life Loving Class for Youth is hosted by Dong-A ST and organized by Cheil Worldwide. Students who attend the class will get 10 hours of volunteer time from the Eco Horizon Institute.
