Dong-A ST (Chairman Eom Dae-sig) announced that the graduation ceremony for the ‘13th Environment & Life Loving Class for Youth’ was held at the auditorium of the Human Resources Development Center of the Dong-A Socio Group located in Sangju City in the morning of July 27.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Vice Chairman Kang Soo-hyoung of Dong-A ST, the middle school students who completed the class, and event officials. The ceremony continued with the screening of an activity video filmed over the 4 nights and 5 days of the program, the presentation and exhibition of the outcomes of the program, and an excellence awards ceremony.

The event, held from July 23 to 27 in Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, included such programs as a lecture on human coexistence with nature, a water-oriented life class designed to help the students understand the diverse species that live in paddy fields and rivers, an agricultural experience that enabled them to experience the harvest season, and an astronomical program that allowed them to observe the constellations in the night sky.

In addition, the middle school students also had opportunities to enjoy the ‘Connection between You & I’, a hand painting experience, an awakening of ecological awareness program, a concert and a campfire.

Kim Yu-bi, a third-year student of Gwangju Shinga Middle School, said, “It was a great opportunity for me to see and experience things I've only ever learned about in books. I would like to protect and preserve the environment so that people can see the starry night in the city as well.”

At the graduation ceremony, Vice Chairman Kang Soo-hyoung of Dong-A ST said, “Don’t forget about the importance of the environment and life that you have learned about during the last five days here, and be sure to let others know as well. Please take an active interest in the environment and take the lead in creating a cleaner, healthier environment.”

Dong-A ST has been organizing the ‘Environment & Life Loving Class for Youth’ since 2004 with the aim of instilling students with a spirit of respect for the environment and the life forms that inhabit it and the desire to protect it with their own hands.
