On February 19, 2019, Dong-A ST (Chairman Eom Dae-sig) announced that it will be holding the ‘3rd Dong-A ST Open Innovation Research Project’ contest to strengthen open-minded cooperation between industry and academia.

The open innovation research project contest was held to create synergies in the research and development of innovative basic research support for academia and innovative new drugs for Dong-A ST.

Proposals for the project are accepted in two areas: degenerative brain disease (including rare diseases); and expansion of indications for Dong-A ST products and related studies. Professors or researchers from universities and hospitals in Korea are eligible to enter the contest.

Proposals for the research project should be submitted from March 4 to 22. Applicants should download the proposal form from the official website of Dong-A ST and submit the proposal to openinnovation@donga.co.kr.

Submitted proposals will be evaluated in the first and second screenings, and the selected proposals will be announced individually in May 2019. Dong-A ST will support the research funds of the selected projects for one year. (up to 100 million KRW).

A total of 127 proposals were submitted for the 1st and 2nd open innovation research projects held previously, of which Dong-A ST selected six in the field of immuno-oncology research and seven in Dong-A ST product research for support.
